Our scoring framework
Every tool receives an editorial score out of five. The number is a structured summary, not a substitute for the analysis around it.
- Capability (35%): output quality, reliability, control, and depth.
- Usability (25%): onboarding, interface, workflow speed, and collaboration.
- Value (25%): practical outcome relative to price, setup, and switching cost.
- Trust (15%): transparency, privacy, human control, and predictable limitations.
How to read our reviews
Start with the short answer, then check the “who should skip it” section. A product can score highly and still be a poor fit for your particular constraints. Use our alternatives and evaluation criteria to build a small shortlist, then test each option with the same representative task.
Updates and corrections
AI products change frequently. Reviews include an updated date and are revised as material capabilities or positioning change. If you spot an outdated claim, we welcome a correction. Product details should always be confirmed with the vendor before purchase.
Commercial independence
Rankings and scores are never for sale. Some of our outbound links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you sign up through them, at no extra cost to you. These commercial relationships never influence a tool's score, its position in any ranking, or whether we cover it — they are decided solely by the framework above. Affiliate links are clearly disclosed on the reviews where they appear, and a tool does not need an affiliate program to earn a top rating.
